Instagram is releasing four new Reels templates that allow users to create videos with comments about their 2022 highlights.
With this launch, Instagram still allows users to customize their year’s highlights to share with subscribers.
Traditionally, Instagram users would end the year with a post highlighting the top nine photos and videos.
Last year, Instagram switched to video, encouraging users to share the top stories of the year.
Now the Instagram app is alerting users to a new way to share their best moments of 2022 by using one of four new templates to create a video.
How to create your Instagram 2022 video
With the new Reels templates on Instagram, you can choose a combination of three to 14 photos and a video, and the app will automatically combine the content into a video.
Instagram has partnered with several celebrities to voice Reels templates, including Bad Bunny, DJ Khaled, Badshah and Priah Ferguson.
Voiceover complements your content by providing commentary with common phrases that can be applied to someone else’s photos and videos.
While uploading, you can choose which timestamps to insert your content into to make sure it matches the voiceover commentary.
Creating a 2022 event is as easy as following the prompt that appears the next time you open the Instagram app.
If you’re not prompted to create a video using one of the new templates, follow these steps:
Select the Reels tab in the middle of the bottom navigation bar.
Tap the camera icon in the top right corner.
Select the templates at the bottom of the screen.
Select one of the four new 2022 resume templates.
Select photos and videos from the photographic film.
Click “Next” when you are ready to view the video.
If you’re happy with the video that Instagram creates, you can share it with your followers, just like any other content.
